Each series should compare the same role, geography, work arrangement and wage definition over time. Method changes are recorded alongside each snapshot.
Interpret movement carefully
A changing median may reflect market pay, composition, geography or sample coverage. We publish sample notes and avoid percentage claims when the comparison is not like-for-like.
- Offered and expected pay stay separate
- Small samples are suppressed or combined
- Nominal pay is not the same as inflation-adjusted pay
